Enrique José Díaz Nieves es actualmente el 1er Comandante del 342 Batallón de Comunicaciones "G/B Pedro Briceño Méndez", entre los cargos relevantes que ha ocupado es haberse desempeñado como Oficial de Intercambio en el Directorado del Centro de Comunicaciones del Ejercito de los EE.UU, en el Fuerte Gordon, GA desde el mes de junio del ano 96 al mes de junio del 98.

LtCol. Enrique Diaz-Nieves was a Venezuelan Exchange Officer at Fort Gordon. Then Major Diaz-Nieves was assigned to the Combat Developments Directorate US Army Signal Center, Fort Gordon, GA, from June 1996 to June 1998.
LtCol. Diaz-Nieves was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on February 25, 1959. He attended the Venezuelan Military Academy, where he received a Bachelor Degree in Military Science, majoring in Education.
He completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems from American University, Washington, DC.
