PREREQUISITES
Prerequisites to be a Venezuelan Exchange Officer in the US Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon
.- Be a Venezuelan active duty Officer with at least a rank of Captain.
2.- Have completed a Bachelor Science degree in Military Science,
Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
3.- Have completed the Signal Officer Basic Course, and the Signal
Officer Advance Course succesfully.
4.- Have more than eigthy five (85) points on the English Comprensive
Test.
5.- Be nominated by the Venezuelan Army seven (07) months before
the Tour of Duty begins.
6.- Receive Invitation Travel Orders (ITO) from the US Army Mission
in Venezuela.(1)
7.- Be tactically and technically proficient.
A.- Knowledge of wide range of communications concepts, techniques,
and practices required in the installation, operation, and maintenance
of tactical, and strategic communication systems.
B.- Working knowledge of the combat developments functions in the
material acquisition process.
C.- Technical knowledge of the operational and performance characteristics
of tactical, and strategic communications systems.
D.- Knowledge of signal doctrine and systems configurations for employment
of tactical and strategic communications systems, in a Joint, Combined, and
Coalition environment in all echelons.
E.- Knowledge and skills to perform analytical work related to the development
and improvement of tactical and strategic communications systems.
F.- Ability to develop materiel, and acquisition documentation in order to
translate user requirements into funded programs.
G.- Be able to travel to observe tests of different equipment at field
locations and contracting plans.
H.- Knowledge and skills to determine the the best equipment for tactical
communications networks and systems to satisfy user requirements.
