AR-614-10 Specifies that an Exchange Officer will be accorded
the same rigths and privileges accorded members of the United States Army in
the same grade and rank. The dependents of an Exchange Officer should be treated
with all the rights and courtesies extended to dependents of a member of the
United States Army.
Paragraph 5-1
Requires the United States Army to furnish quarters and rations for an Exchange
Officer as for its own personnel. The Exchange Officer is responsible for paying for
the quarters and rations provided to him. The Exchange Officer should have the
same priority for quarters as a United States Army member of the same grade and
rank. AR 210-50 governs the occupancy of quarters by ALIGN=ABSBOTTOM foreign exchange personnel.
Paragraph 5-2 of 614-10 and AR 40-3, paragraphs 4-23C, 426, and
Appendix B give the guidelines for the provision of medical and dental care.
Medical and dental care will be provided Exchange Personnel and his dependents
to the same extent that is to be provided to a member of the United States Army
and to his dependents. A reciprocal medical/dental agreement exists between the
Venezuelan Army and the United States Army where members of both armies and their
dependents are afforded medical care at no cost to them. The agreement does not
extend dental care to dependents.
The U.S. Signal Exchange Officer will be accorded by Venezuela the same
rights and privileges that are according to the Venezuelan Exchange Officer.
